Barrel heaters

The barrel heater is designed to keep liquids and oil-based products warm and fluid.

As standard, the barrel heater is delivered with operating lamp, thermostat 30-110 °C, thermal cut-off 165 °C, 3 m supply cord with plug for connection to an earthed socket. On special demand other thermostat and thermal cut-off may be mounted.

The barrel heater meets the requirements acc. to EN 60335-1.

At operation the barrel heater must be mounted at a barrel. The barrel heater must not be used outdoors or in wet rooms and must not be rinsed with liquids.

Assembly

The barrel heater shall be assemled at the lower part of the barrel so that the whole content of the barrel will be heated. To ensure an optimal heat transmission the stretchning device of the heater must be after-stretched after the first heating time. The stretchning device adjustment should be checked continuosly.
It is recommended to use mittens when the heater has been in operation. The barrel heater must not be used outside, in wet rooms or when not assembled at a barrel. The heater may not be splashed by liquids.

Thermostat

The thermostat can be adjusted after scale with a screw driver. To get to the thermostat a rubber plug must be removed from the terminal box. The temperature on the scale shows the surface temperature of the barrel and thus not the temperature of the content in the barrel.

Thermal cut-off

The barrel heater is furnished with a protection against overheating and which disconnects the element at faults of the operation thermostat or when there is a problem with the heat transmission to the barrel. The thermal cut-off can be manually reset by a push button, positioned under a domed nut at the terminal box. Before resetting, the barrel heater must be cooled and its fastering at the barrel must be checked. If the barrel heater cannot be operated after resetting the heater must be controlled by an authorized electrician.

Safety

Parts of the barrel heater get warm in operation!
The barrel heater may not be put closer that one meter from inflammable material or building material. The barrel that shall be heated must be open for ventilation during the full heating time. The barrel must further be placed at a well ventilated position avoiding any kind of ignition.
